In this episode of “Hands of Change” – Retired Airline Captain Woody Harrington, and father of host Kurt Harrington, share’s his experiences of living with Dupuytren’s disease. From the initial event triggering disease activation to being diagnosed by his First Officer to under-going eight surgical procedures, Mr. Harrington has a lot to share for patients living with Dupuytren’s, as well as Ledderhose, and Garrod’s Knuckle Pads. Mr. Harrington shares his experiences flying from Michigan to Florida to under-go needle aponeurotomy (NA) surgeries with Dr. Charlie Eaton to subsequent procedures with other surgeons once Dr. Eaton closed his practice to start the Dupuytren’s Research Group. Most recently Woody had his first fasciectomy to treat continued contracture and nodule formation in his hand while creating novel shoe inserts to offset foot discomfort related to the his Ledderhose.
